DVM
Dr. Zoe Olmsted is a recent graduate from Colorado State University. After being raised in Upstate New York, living in both North Carolina and Colorado, she is excited to see how California life treats her. So far, so good!
Dr. Zoe is ecstatic to begin her veterinary career at Las Tablas Animal Hospital, where she can put her many, many years of schooling into practical use and help both pets and their devoted parents. In addition to veterinary school, she’s spent time learning about animal medicine and welfare at the San Diego Zoo, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Service, the Duke Lemur Center, Smithsonian’s National Zoo, and several wildlife rehabilitation centers.
Along with wildlife and exotic animals, Dr. Zoe has a special love for our feline friends. Working with cats always brightens her day, and the more she sees, the merrier. Other veterinary special interests include ultrasound, chronic disease management, and pathology. Most importantly, Dr. Zoe has learned that, although zoo medicine and wildlife interactions are exhilarating, her favorite part of being a vet is the communication, education, relational trust that comes from working directly with pet owners.
On her days off, she finds solace with any outdoor activity, a good beach read, and any type of craft that you can think of. Her four-legged family consists of two perfect cats, Bryon and Wilfred, and a little less perfect dog, Moose.
Dr. Zoe feels so fulfilled and proud to be part of the Las Tablas family, and can’t wait to be introduced to your four-legged family as well.
