Dr. ZOE OLMSTED

DVM

Dr. Zoe Olmsted is a new graduate from Colorado State University’s Veterinary Class of 2024. She loved living in the Colorado mountains, but she’s always dreamed of living near California beaches. She is ecstatic to begin her veterinary career at Las Tablas Animal Hospital, where she can put her many, many years of schooling into practical use and help both pets and their devoted parents.

Dr. Zoe received her Bachelor’s degree at North Carolina State University while gathering as many fun and educational opportunities as possible. She’s spent time learning about animal medicine and welfare at the San Diego Zoo, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Duke Lemur Center, Smithsonian’s National Zoo, and several wildlife rehabilitation centers. She has had the pleasure of doing truly unbelievable things, from physical exams on mouse lemurs to monitoring anesthesia during a lion dental. In truth, much of her experience is in wildlife and zoo medicine – although exhilarating, this has made her realize that the communication, education, relational trust that comes from working directly with pet owners is far more fulfilling.

Originally from Syracuse, New York, she has always found solace with any outdoor activity, a good beach read, or a mindful yoga class.
